This five-month certification was thoughtfully created from my own journey as an early childhood professional.

I went from believing I am the one who needed to hold the power in my work with children, to understanding the VALUE and vital importance of empowering the children!

The Art of Empowering Children Certification FALL 2025: August - December

August-December, this five-month journey will support participants as they implement specific changes to their current practice with children. The four pillars that support empowerment will be the core of this journey that includes weekly or bi-weekly journal pages, inspiring and informative videos, meaningful assignments and monthly zoom meetings. Along the way, tools will be shared that will create habits. A few of those habits are: always gathering information about each child, observing and honoring play schema needs, the awareness of sensory input of the environment at any given time and identifying the unique ways each child invites you in. This certification is not easy. The intentional changes it inspires will only happen when the work is done. The material lays out the path, Denita provides the support and the participant must do the work.

I am Denita Dinger, the voice and passionate heart behind Listen to the Children, and (formerly), Play Counts. I am honored and thrilled that you are here!

Take a moment to look at this photo collage. Note the child in the center... that is little me. . At the core of who I am today is a lifetime full of experiences that, lucky for me, began as a little girl allowed to PLAY and use her imagination.

My hope is, as you scroll through my course and coaching offerings, you find the perfect fit for you.

It is impossible to PLEASE everyone, but I do my absolute best to provide trainings that MEET everyone where they are with their grasping and application of a child-led pedagogy.

The majority of my courses are self-paced, so never a source of stress. They are designed to be taken in small pieces, then give yourself time to apply that knowledge before attacking another "nugget of knowledge".
